Banh Banh - Peckham
We were exicited when approached by the team to collaborate with their architect and conclude the existing design of a restaurant.
We employed our experience of hospitality focusing on the design of bar area within the narrow terrace property. Our aim was to maximize seating whilst not compromising the comfort and logistics of their customers and staff. An integral part of the project was to design and calculate an acoustic void within the ceiling. This subtle but smart feature reduces the sound reverberation (background noise) that would occcur in an occupied restaurant from the hard finished surfaces within it. We applied the knowledge of acoutic design we gained from our experience within commercial interiors and used it to develop a systematic void within the ceiling toward the front of the restaurant. This allowed the sound to travel up through the aesthetic line pattern and dissipate in the acoustical void.
